I had to Post this blog today , because I made something that has to be my favourite piece so far... I don't usually brag, LOL! but I just love this piece and felt the need to share it with you all ...
I recently started using My Bestie 3d sheets and fell in love. But I have a favourite Bestie that if I could use eveytime I create I would,
I'D MAKE HER A STAR !
I'D MAKE HER A STAR !
This beautiful girl is not a 3d sheet yet but I thought I would challenge my self and give decoupage a go. she is a full
pre-coloured digi sheet with background
* First I printed her out on a A4 canvas paper,
this Bestie comes already coloured and with a beautiful background.
* I then cropped the picture of her down to just her and copied her again onto canvas paper 6 times
* and then the fun began as I figured out how to cut each layer to create the 3d image.
once I did all the figuring out and fussy cutting .. the real fun began.
so starting with a 25cm x 30cm plain canvas ( a recycled one I got from a second hand shop )
I painted it with a similar colour in acrylic as her dress and then distressed it with sandpaper and added some Tim Holtz distress spray stain in - evergreen bough
and - seedless preserve
I then took the full printed image A4 piece and distressed the edges and inked them with Tim Holtz - vintage photo
Then added a laced border edge made with my Martha Stewart lace - doily border punch
and behind that I added some baby pink mesh ribbon
I then glued a piece of thick recycled cardboard to canvas measuring just slightly smaller then the A4 image print, to give the image piece some pop from the canvas when I add it .
Now its time to piece the Bestie all together
Using 3d foam tape I pieced all the image together in order as in picture above
left to right , top , bottom
Giving it the finished 3d look ,I've added my clear wink of stella to flowers, eye, underlayer of dress and streaks in her hair for a bit of dazzle.
Now I glue her to the canvas onto of the cardboard to give it a bit of lift and shadow off the canvas
a brass key flat back from stash
and peacock , ostrich and emu feathers personal collection
then again with my clear wink of stella I gave everything a bit of bling
Final piece finished
I hope you have enjoyed todays blog and are loving this bestie as much as I am ..
she definitely a cutie
