Ribbons, Lace and Twine

Well it has been an amazing couple of months for me, crafting up a storm and getting myself out there in the crafting world.
I'm so excited to announce that I have been added to My Besties Pretty pre-coloured pintables design team and I cannot wait to show you my very first inspiration for their new challenge #6

When I got this beautiful 3d sheet with Bestie - Blakely Ann swing

I new straight away I had to create something that had her being able to really swing.
I printed her sheet out twice, so that I could add a few extra layers.
I made and extra layer at the front of her hair (piece in front of her headband)
and an extra layer with the shoes.

So I thought I would use my Katie Label Accordian die set
a great die set to use for making a moving or swing creation in a card.
I cut out 7 pieces (double layer for the card part and 3 layer for the swing frame)
out of green cardstock from my stash
and used paper pad 6x6 Hot off the press - rosemary and thyme
1 piece in a patterned paper for the front of the card
I then cut out 2 large plain purple labels
2 medium patterned paper labels
1 small oval (which comes with this die) in plain purple
I then embossed in white on the oval piece 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'
I now piece it all together placing the bestie swing in between a layer to hold firmly in place.
I have also added some sparkle to her  with my clear wink of stella
and stamped a lace pattern in Stampin up  ' whisper white' around the swing frame.
I've then added some embellishments with Button brads, lace ribbon flower,
2 x ribbon bows and brass rose trinket.
and finally before joining the accordion labels together I used Katie Holly Frame Edges die
to frame out the 2 main card pieces.
Now piece the labels together with the little tabs provided.
and my Bestie accordion card with Bestie hanging a swing is complete.

Follow your Dreams

Challenge #1 at Auzz Trinklets N Kraft Blog
http://auzztrinkletsnkrafts.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/1st-challenge-for-auzz-trinklets-n.html
...... I am so excited to join this very first challenge for Auzz Trinklets n Kraft.

I have been a long time customer of theirs and shop very regularly with Neha, stocking up on all my crafting needs and wants..lol!

They are a fantastic Brisbane Based craft supplier, you can also follow them on facebook

Ok so the theme for the very first challenge is anything on paper, using the colour palette

So I thought what a great opportunity to use my newly bought crating supplies I got last week from Auzz Trinklets, while doing an off the page class with them.
Almost all supplies used in this project were bought through Auzz Trinklets.

I have used a 8" x 8" canvas and used Viva Décor - Inka gold around the edges
then layered fusia pink foil cardstock on top and then another layer of sea green foil cardstock embossed with Couture Creations folder - Peacock Pleasure and scuffed it with my sanding tool.

On water colour paper I have embossed stamped in black - Prima Marketing - Jamie Dougherty
Bloom girl SIRENA
and coloured her with Gelato's
Then glued her to the canvas using my red double sided tape
I then glittered the bubbles with ultra fine glitter and added glass domes.
Pearls to hair, feathers, fancy button and some mulberry paper flowers.
and to blend image into canvas I have added Derivan Matisse
 Glass Beads - 1.5mm
-3mm
adhering with Inkssentials- Glossy accents

Then for added beauty I thought i'd add a new technique I learnt while at Auzz Trinklets class.
Sospeso Trasparente
a beautiful craft that creates the most gorgeous embellishments.

I have used sheet  - Little red flowers
                       -Blue flowers

This is amazing and beautiful craft and these can be made into anything you are wanting to create.

Final touch I added a stamp from TPC Studio - Playful expressions

I hope you have enjoyed my blog today and continue to follow me.
Please leave a comment and then pop over and visit
Auzz Trinklets n Kraft
and join in on this fun challenge and do some shopping if your in need of some great supplies.

embellished with some paper flowers
some Elizabeth Craft Design black peel off words.
Hot of the Press
 Dazzles brown jewel stickers and
Dazzles Button stickers

My Vintage Bestie make her FAMOUS

I had to Post this blog today , because I made something that has to be my favourite piece so far... I don't usually brag, LOL!    but I just love this piece and felt the need to share it with you all ...

I recently started using My Bestie 3d sheets and fell in love. But I have a favourite Bestie that if I could use eveytime I create I would,
  I'D MAKE HER A STAR !

This beautiful girl is not a 3d sheet yet but I thought I would challenge my self and give decoupage a go. she is a full
 pre-coloured digi sheet with background
* First I printed her out on a A4 canvas paper,
this Bestie comes already coloured and with a beautiful background.
* I then cropped the picture of her down to just her and copied her again onto canvas paper 6 times
* and then the fun began as I figured out how to cut each layer to create the 3d image.

once I did all the figuring out and fussy cutting .. the real fun began.
so starting with a 25cm x 30cm plain canvas ( a recycled one I got from a second hand shop )
I painted it with a similar colour in acrylic as her dress and then distressed it with sandpaper and added some Tim Holtz distress spray stain in                       - evergreen bough
and                                        - seedless preserve
I then took the full printed image A4 piece and distressed the edges and inked them with Tim Holtz - vintage photo

Then added a laced border edge made with my Martha Stewart lace - doily border punch

and behind that I added some baby pink mesh ribbon
I then glued a piece of thick recycled cardboard to canvas measuring just slightly smaller then the A4 image print, to give the image piece some pop from the canvas when I add it .

Now its time to piece the Bestie all together

Using 3d foam tape I pieced all the image together in order as in picture above
left to right , top , bottom
Giving it the finished 3d look ,I've added my clear wink of stella to flowers, eye, underlayer of dress and streaks in her hair for a bit of dazzle.

Now I glue her to the canvas onto of the cardboard to give it a bit of lift and shadow off the canvas

then add mulberry paper flowers in pinks and creams and glittered creams , some leaves and bits from my stash
a brass key flat back from stash
and peacock , ostrich and emu feathers personal collection
then again with my clear wink of stella I gave everything a bit of bling

Final piece finished

I hope you have enjoyed todays blog and are loving this bestie as much as I am ..
she definitely a cutie
