Aprils theme is UNDER THE SEA
and our off the page challenge this month is to create a diorama or aquarium.
This started out a bit of a challenge for me but as I started to create and play around with ideas, it took me back to primary school where these sorts of crafts we're done. My twin girls in prep actually just did farm diorama's and it was fantastic to see miniature creations.
Hand drawn little mermaid princess and fish.
( These will be available as digital stamps very soon, so keep watch for the release )
I have coloured her with
Tim Holtz distress markers and also used PearlEx mica powder
- Sparkling gold #657
- Spring green #685
painted the inside blue and green , then grabbed some sand from my kids sandpit mixed in some clear gel medium to form a sandy paste and then layered that into the bottom to create the sandy bottom of the sea.
I'm also a hoarder of everything crafty or recyclable so had everything I used in my stash.
* shells * dried seaweed * seas sponge * wire * fake drift wood
* glossy accents
* glass pebbles and little sea urchin charms from a broken bracelet I found. * hot glue gun and a pearl for my clam and my jelly fish are a clear glass pebble and some fringe ribbon, oooh! and clear string for hanging items.

Now we have fun creating the under the sea scene.
To finish the scene off I added a small blue battery operated light to give it that under the sea feel.
and my scene is complete.
I hope you have enjoyed my blog today and are inspired to create a small scene - diorama.
