Babies in the Clouds

New challenge #67 today at Creative Moments

using some gorgeous digi's from dee dee digi's

I have used these great images that come with black and white images, pre coloured images and background papers to match and sediments ..
Just a beautiful package of digi's.

I have used my images to make a sweet mobile for a babies room.
As soon as I seen the babies in the umbrella's and the hangind clouds with heart rain I just had to make it hang..

I used the pre coloured images and printed them all out twice, reverting half of them so I could stick them together and make each image double sided.
and then cut slots in the clouds so I could link them together to make the top of the mobile.

This was something fun to make other then making a card or a layout..
 It's always fun to step outside of the box and see if the images can have you creating something different and unique, that would make a great gift.

I hope I have inspired you to day to come join in this challenge
 and pop over to deedeedigi's and check out her great designs.

April Snazzy Sketch @ Aussie Crafters

It's Aussie Crafters snazzy sketch time.
This month at Aussie Crafters we have had so much fun with our under the sea theme, with our Gel card swap and out diorama , we thought it would be great to finish the month off with a under the sea themed snazzy sketch ...  https://www.facebook.com/events/356643971208981/?ref=4

So with this sketch we asked our members to use blue's and green's and add a sea creature some where on the sketch.
As always you can make you sketch into a scrapbook layout, card, canvas ect.. any project you can think as long as it fits the sketch design and challenge/ theme.

Happy Easter with Rick St Dennis Images

New Challenge started over at
Challenge #66

The Image used is from an amazing artist Rick St Dennis

Image used is - EVGENIYA-easter

This image was a little challenging for me, as I have never coloured such a detailed image before, but I have to say it cam out ok and wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. the detail actually helps with the colouring.
I have used Copics to colour her.

So I hope you are all feeling creative and pop over to Rick's shop and check out his amazing digi's.
Then come join us at creative moments for this great challenge.

Please love your comments and share with your crafty friends.

Mermaid Treasures - Diorama

Hello Crafters its challenge time again at Aussie Crafters
Aprils theme is UNDER THE SEA
and our off the page challenge this month is to create a diorama or aquarium.

This started out a bit of a challenge for me but as I started to create and play around with ideas, it took me back to primary school where these sorts of crafts we're done. My twin girls in prep actually just did farm diorama's and it was fantastic to see miniature creations.
So for this piece I created my own image.
Hand drawn little mermaid princess and fish.
( These will be available as digital stamps very soon, so keep watch for the release )

I have coloured her with
Tim Holtz distress markers and also used PearlEx mica powder
 - Sparkling gold #657
- Spring green #685

 I started out with an old mailing box
painted the inside blue and green , then grabbed some sand from my kids sandpit mixed in some clear gel medium to form a sandy paste and then layered that into the bottom to create the sandy bottom of the sea.
I'm also a hoarder of everything crafty or recyclable so had everything I used in my stash.
* shells  * dried seaweed  * seas sponge  * wire  * fake drift wood
* glossy accents
* glass pebbles and little sea urchin charms from a broken bracelet I found.  * hot glue gun and a pearl for my clam and my jelly fish are a clear glass pebble and some fringe ribbon, oooh! and clear string for hanging items.

my little jelly fish hanging

Now we have fun creating the under the sea scene.

To finish the scene off I added a small blue battery operated light to give it that under the sea feel.
and my scene is complete.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog today and are inspired to create a small scene - diorama.

Come join us at Aussie Crafters  and create beautiful things .

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think or maybe what you would like me to make..

Aussie Crafter's April Swap .....Gel Card

This months theme at Aussie Crafters is " Under the Sea "   so why not make a card that feels and represents the sea..

Gel cards are one of make because you can do any sort of theme using this gel method.
These Fantastic cards pictured below were made by our wonderful admin team member at Aussie crafters
MICHELLE PARRANT ...
I just love the mug of beer, its so realistic..
GEL cards are great..

I had so many ideas I wanted to do, but pirate treasure was what I was thinking .. maybe a pirate ship with a hidden gel treasure inside...
 But as your about to see that plan didn't happen..lol !

I am a big fan of Finding Nemo so when I stated thinking along the lines of a Porthole , who better to have staring back at you then our Vegetarian Shark BRUCE!!!

 Items I have used are
* Cardstock (textured and glittered)
* Hair Gel
* Brads
* Tim Holtz - Distress stain -Vintage photo
* Spellbinders - Metal sheets
* Walnut Hollow - Metal embossing rollers
* Stazon - Jet black ink
* Double sided foam tape
* Clear Tape
* Double sided adhesive

* Clear cello bag

As I am making a Porthole gel card I have made my base (so what will be seen in the background behind the gel.
Bruce image also get added on the base card.
I then take my cello bag and at the sealed end I adhere it to the base card and then extra hold with a piece of clear tape.
I then put about a flat table spoon of gel into the bag and try to push out as much of the air as I can. I then fold over and seal with tape and then seal again when adhering down to the card base.
I'm now ready to add my top card piece which is the porthole.

This top piece is the same size as the base piece, I've just cut out the porthole and then added my porthole with the spellbinders metal and brads. I then adhere over gel bag onto base card with good strong double sided tape. which gives the gel bag some more protection.

there are many great video tutorials on You Tube search "gel card"

I hope you give this card making a try, I guarantee it will be a favourite.

Hug-able Bestie Bear 3d Canvas with My Besties

Challenge time again over at My Besties 3d deco blog

I have made a small recycled an old printed 8" x 8" canvas.
and use this cute pre coloured 3d Hug-able Bestie Bear

http://scrapbookstampsociety.com/auction_details.php?name=MB-3d-decoupage-Bestie-Hugable-Bear-download-by-Sherri-Baldy&auction_id=107669

I've kept it quiet simple and used the fact that the canvas was already printed on with some cute colours.
Deciding just to add some texture with some patterned paper from my stash and some card stock embellished with my Martha Stewart lace boarder Punch and then lay on my 3d bear.

Finishing off with some hand made Crochet flower, ribbon roses, purple mulberry flowers, feathers and a few buttons.
and my stitched element is some stitched ribbon.

Also added some finishing touches with my clear Wink of Stella and
 Ranger Liquid Pearls - Majestic Purple and Petal Pink

Thanku for Popping By and seeing my simple yet cute Bestie canvas... I think this will be the perfect gift for a special little niece turning 2 this year ...

Plz leave a comment below or just say hi and share with your friends ...
